SF Tender
A real-time information hub and coordination center for San Francisco's homeless services network.
What It Does
- Provides a centralized live feed for real-time updates, announcements, and alerts from participating organizations.
- Facilitates rapid communication of urgent information (e.g., shelter capacity changes, service availability, critical alerts).
- Enables seamless sharing of operational status, resource availability (like bed counts or meal times), and emerging needs.
- Acts as a dynamic directory and status board for services across the city.
- Supports resource coordination by making information visible and easily accessible.
Why It Exists
Fragmented communication channels (texts, emails, calls) make it difficult to get a clear, real-time picture of the city-wide service landscape and urgent needs. Siloed information can lead to missed opportunities for collaboration and inefficient resource allocation.
SF Tender changes that by:
- Creating a unified, accessible information stream for all participants.
- Improving situational awareness for service providers on the ground.
- Enhancing inter-agency coordination through shared, up-to-date information.
- Streamlining the dissemination of critical updates to the right people, quickly.
- Reducing the reliance on ad-hoc communication methods and information bottlenecks.
Who It's For
- Homeless shelters
- Drop-in centers
- Mobile outreach teams
- Street medicine teams
- Food providers and soup kitchens
- City-wide and community-based organizations involved in homeless services
